questions for thought(due april 26th)

    1. Which ideas from the video struck you as most relevant to your teaching of comprehension?
    2. What new instructional practices will you implement in your classroom?
    3. How will you use the ideas presented in this video to improve the comprehension of your struggling readers (students you are observing)?
a) I liked how the teacher used the elements of non-fiction layout for students to use their own minds to put the elements into their own words from the knowledge they had to pick the right elements. I also liked how the students engaged themselevs in group works to proofread each others works and show each other whats missing or needs to be taken out. Also, how they used personal knowlege to reflect on the books whether it referred to a character or something else.

b)For me it will be more difficult since I am a secondary education major, but since I am a Biology major, I would assume picture to text references will be a major role.

c) For the students I am observing I will work with the cooperating teacher and do alittle side work of informal text and background information that they have to help build their comprehension base.
